The Marlo Hat, Knit Pattern

This digital knitting pattern will guide you through making a soft, stretchy hat featuring a turned brim, shaped crown and long pointed ear flaps/chin straps. It’s the perfect project for playing around with colour combinations and stripes to create a hat that’s completely your own.

The pattern is worked mainly in the round using 4 mm circular needles, with the ear flaps picked up afterwards and worked flat.

• Designed to fit approximately 45–65 cm head circumferences due to the stretch of the knitted fabric

• Finished hat circumference: approximately 50 cm

• DK-weight merino or merino/acrylic yarn

• 4 mm circular needles

• Gauge: 19 stitches × 26 rows = 10 × 10 cm

• Worked in the round with ear flaps worked flat

Some basic knitting knowledge is recommended, including casting on, knitting and purling, knitting in the round, K2tog decreases and picking up stitches.
